What do you get when you mix Daryl Palumbo from the New York-based hardcore band, Glassjaw, and producer
Dan the Automator from Gorillaz and Handsome Boy Modeling School? You get Head Automatica. The
two began working together, blending beats with punk rock, a tasty combination featured on the
group's debut Decadence. The band has toured with a diverse collection of bands, including Lostprophets,
Thrice, Interpol and the Rapture.
"To make music more along the lines of what I rock in my free time is a really awesome thing,” Palumbo said about Head Automatic. "This feels more comfortable than anything ever, because the music was straight out of me.”
During the live show, Palumbo is joined by Glassjaw's Larry Gorman on drums, Jim Greer on keyboards,
Josh Holden on bass and Craig Bonich and Brandon Arnovick on guitars. "People get so intimidated
in front of an audience; it's like why do you play music?” Palumbo said. "We're
an electronic cock-rock band, so you're going to get a good show and it's
going to sound stellar.”
Their debut is full of tracks with catchy hooks, a cross between dance music and with a hardcore spirit. The mix is intoxicating and sure to get you moving.
