The Amaury
The Amaury formed in May 2005 when Derek Broomhead (drums) and Collin Rocker (bass) joined Mark Sandman (lead singer/lyricist) and Corey Mastrangelo (guitar) and began working together to create original music with an alternative experimental rock sound. With the addition of second guitarist Chad Cook in early 2006, the five-piece band from Basking Ridge, NJ began performing and soon gained recognition on the local music scene. By the end of their first month playing together they had won first place in the Charter Day Battle of the Bands in Basking Ridge, NJ, after competing against ten older and more experienced bands. In August 2006, they won first prize in the Jersey Shows Battle of the Bands, beating 253 other bands. The Amaury recently appeared on the East Coast Indie Stage of the Vans Warped Tour and their upcoming shows include an industry showcase at New York's Bitter End and gigs at New Jersey's Starland Ballroom and Seton Hall University. The band is deeply committed to supporting Rock the Earth, an environmental non-profit organization and donates a portion of their proceeds to this charity. They recently completed a new EP, produced by Zak Soulam and Mike Visceglia, and they continue to work on new material.
