Victor Goines' Work Premiered, Co-Commissioned by The ASCAP Foundation

The Chicago Jazz Ensemble's 11th American Heritage Jazz Series kicked off with a concert of music by Benny Goodman on September 3, 2009 at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, Chicago. The concert featured the premiere of Victor Goines' composition, "Benny: Then, Now and Forever," commissioned by The ASCAP Foundation and Columbia College Chicago with support from the Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation. Goines played clarinet for the premiere of the work alongside The Chicago Jazz Ensemble.
