Choral Version of David Lang's The Little Match Girl Passion Receives American Premiere

In early November 2009, the choral version of David Lang's The Little Match Girl Passion received its first American performance before a live studio audience at WNYC radio's new 'Greene Space' on Varick Street in lower Manhattan. The Little Match Girl Passion earned Lang the 2008 Pulitzer Prize in music. Lang's choral setting of the Hans Christian Andersen tragic tale was performed by The New York Virtuoso Singers, led by its founding conductor, Harold Rosenbaum.
