Randall Grimmett, Senior Vice President, Domestic Membership of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) announced today that Shawn LeMone has been promoted to Vice President, Membership - Film & TV. Based in ASCAP's Los Angeles office, LeMone is responsible for the oversight and daily operational management of ASCAP's Film & Television Membership department on a worldwide basis. LeMone, who joined ASCAP in 1995, was most recently Assistant Vice President, Film & TV Membership.
Commenting on LeMone's promotion, Grimmett said: "I am pleased to have been able to recognize Shawn's significant contributions to ASCAP in promoting him. He has been responsible for some of the Society's most prominent switches of composers from BMI and SESAC, as well as helping to guide the department over the last year during a period of transition."
ASCAP's Film & Television Membership department is responsible for outreach to some of the Society's most prominent and successful members, including all composer members working professionally in the film, television and video game industries. Outreach includes ASCAP's Film & TV Awards, ASCAP's Television & Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis, attendance at film festivals, conferences and the development of numerous other educational and career enhancing programs throughout the country. The department's success in recent years has resulted in a dominant market share for ASCAP across the entire spectrum of audio-visual media.
Commenting on his recent promotion, LeMone said: "It has been my great honor to serve the composer members of ASCAP over the years. I look forward to leading the Film & Television department as we charge forward to embrace the challenges of a rapidly evolving media landscape."
